The 4th Cotswold Hills Golf Annual
This year was the 4th year of benefiting from the Cotswold Hills Golf Annual Charity Day, and we are indebted to the Captain and the Directors of the Club for giving The Kambia Appeal this opportunity. We shared the proceeds with the Guide Dogs for the Blind and the World Challenge Expedition 2010
Despite adverse weather especially in the late afternoon, all 120 players turned out and participated fully in the event. The generosity of companies and individuals ensured that we had a very attractive table of golf and raffle prizes, a three course meal helped to lift the spirits, and a very jolly time was had by all in the clubhouse after the golf.
My thanks are due to all the voluntary help that was provided by members of the club in the form of starters and ball spotters, but I must make special mention of Peter Winrow who provided invaluable support for many months leading up to the event and equally on the day, and to Maureen Winrow and her team for carrying out the registration of teams of players and the task of interpreting, often soggy wet, scorecards to find our winners. - John Kloer
